A Ventography!

Just two moms letting off some steam

MRT boy

We went to a 3 day autism conference recently and learned a lot.  One of the most amazing things we heard about was Magnetic Resonance Therapy (MRT). In mom language, MRT is pulsing a big, super strength magnet on your child’s forehead to re-set the brain’s electrical system. This therapy is very new and very expensive (one month is $11,500) so we won’t be using it with our children any time soon. But we wanted to make others aware of it, especially since Dr. Bradstreet is about to open clinical trials for this procedure. If your child is selected, the procedure will be completely free.

If you want to learn more about MRT, check out this website. They have information about the cost and side effects as well as video testimonials. Dr. Bradstreet said he will post information on how to apply for the clinical trial today on his blog. You can also scan here to look for information on the trial once it is posted.

You have to watch this amazing video of an 18-year-old boy with severe autism. Warning… the video is disturbing. In the “before” video the boy is violent… punching himself over and over and attempting to hit his mom. After MRT, he is able to play ping-pong, shoot hoops, and he can laugh! The quality of life for both the boy and his mother is remarkably improved.

Disclaimer: We are not patients of Dr. Bradstreet and we know nothing about the effectiveness or safety of this therapy. Please do your own research. We are simply passing along information.

A Ventography is about: 1. Encouraging and empathizing with other parents on the autism spectrum. 2. Recycling and simplifying information on the latest autism news and health and diet tips. 3. Asking thought provoking questions designed to make us rethink what we've been told about autism. 4. Helping connect the dots that show, in some cases, autism is more than a brain disorder. 5. Challenging parents to rethink what they've been told, refuse the status quo, and escape the whirlwind of confusion.

  1. Hi Leah and Molly!
I think your website is fabulous! I’m taking my son down to Atlanta this summer for six weeks to try the MRT treatments. Dr. Bradstreet has been our doctor for about eight months now and we love him! He has really been the only doctor to turn my son around with the GCMAF injections among other things. My question to you is have you come across a family that has already gone to do the MRT and I would love to know the results.

    • Theresa- We have not come across a family that has tried MRT. You will be our first. We wish you all the best and we hope you will keep in touch and let us know how your son is doing. – L&M

  2. Incredible!!! It looks and sounds so promising. Hope it will be more popular and more affordable soon!

  3. Ok this has all the hallmarks of a scam, designed to extract the few remaining coins from the pockets of desperate partents whom, being both parents and desperate, will pay anything for… hope. The first red flag is the name of the therapy; this technique is well known and well established, it’s called TMS (Trans-cranial Magnetic Stimulation) but they have renamed it MRT (Magnetic resonance therapy), why? Because Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a well established but very expensive brain imaging technique. It’s expensive because it uses a very expensive machine (a tube you lie in surrounded by cryogenically cooled high powered electro magnets and ultra-sensitive detectors). However the technology used here is quite cheap (consisting of a figure-8 loop of copper wire and a variable power supply – you could build one in your back shed, you’d just need to liscence the software.
So you could build it and use it youre self?
Well… yes! and any company that seeks to show how it is better and deserves your $$$, needs to show how much more significant the improvements in the patient will be, compared to either other treatments (such as standard TMS) or simply to the natural progression of nature, or to the myriad of other therapies on offrer.

    • Hi Anthony – You may be right. We agree that this therapy is new, unproven, and expensive. However, there are so few interventions offering hope for parents with severely autistic children (the ones who self harm and injure their parents) that we felt it was worth passing the information along.

    • If you’re on such a crusade for answers, why don’t you make it easier for people to post information?

I’m amazed at the websites I visit. Why people aren’t stressing detox is a mystery to me. There’s so much info out that there that says mercury, fluoride, etc. is a cause. What the heck is the problem? It looks like I’m going to have to start my own website to get people some real help!

Higher Levels of Several Toxic Metals Found in Children With Autism
Feb. 25, 2013 — In a recently published study in the journal Biological Trace Element Research, Arizona State University researchers report that children with autism had higher levels of several toxic metals in their blood and urine compared to typical children. The study involved 55 children with autism ages 5-16 years compared to 44 controls of similar age and gender.

There’s so much information out there on this. Anyway, I stopped by to give you some real help. But first, let me ask you a question. What are you telling people about prevention. That’s where to attack this problem. Yes, there is help for those who are already afflicted, but there are ways to prevent this!!! The Toxins!!!

Now, Here’s a little something I hope you share on your sites. Here’s an article that states brain synchronization is connected with autism.

Weak Synchronization in Toddler Brains May Be a Biological Marker for Autism
July 27, 2011 — The biological causes of autism are still not understood. A diagnosis of autism is only possible after ages three or four; and the tests are subjective, based on behavioral symptoms. Now, in research that appeared in Neuron, scientists at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Carnegie Mellon University and the University of California, San Diego have found, for the first time, a method that can accurately identify a biological sign of autism in very young toddlers. By scanning the brain activity of sleeping children, the scientists discovered that the autistic brains exhibited significantly weaker synchronization between brain areas tied to language and communication, compared to that of non-autistic children.

In sleeping autistic toddlers, the fMRI scans showed lowered levels of synchronization between the left and right brain areas known to be involved in language and communication. This pattern was not seen either in children with normal development or in those with delayed language development who were not autistic. In fact, the researchers found that this synchronization was strongly tied to the autistic child’s ability to communicate: The weaker the synchronization, the more severe were the symptoms of autism. On the basis of the scans, the scientists were able to identify 70% of the autistic children between the ages of one and three.

Now, here’s what to do about it. Here’s a video with doctors and teachers explaining a simple exercise that is showing dramatic results for autistic children.

That should get you going. Do some research and find more ways to synchronize the hemispheres of the brain. There’s some good stuff out there. And please, get people to detox. If you need help with that, let me know. I’ll send you places that will amaze you.

Let me share one more thing with you. Go on youtube and watch THRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Hi Steven-

Maybe you are not aware that we are simply two mothers, doing the best we can to help other parents who are raising special needs children. We do all of this FOR FREE. We have not made one dime and have spent much of our personal time on this effort, despite having major challenges of our own.

We are sorry you weren’t able to post the information you wanted. In the future, please use our Facebook page to post your message (https://www.facebook.com/healthinducedautism).

We must clarify that we are ALL about prevention and detox! We have all sorts of information about detox on our website (http://www.healthinducedautism.com) such as chelation, infrared sauna, hyperbaric, methylation, etc. It is all explained to the best of our ability. Our intention is to provide parents a starting place for treatment/therapy options once their child is diagnosed. It is up to each individual parent to decide the best path for their child… we do not judge.

We agree with you that it is important to balance the hemispheres of the brain and have done some of that therapy with our own children. Again, we have information about this topic on our website, http://www.healthiducedautism.com, such as neurofeedback, Hemispheric Integration Therapy, Vision Therapy, and Interactive Metronome.

      Best Regards,

      Leah and Molly
